MP Visits Longbridge Device Lab

Richard Burden Visits Longbridge Device Lab

On Monday we were pleased to welcome our local MP to Longbridge Device Lab to demonstrate our open device lab and how it can benefit the local community.

Richard Burden has been Labour MP for the Northfield constituency (which includes Kings Norton, Longbridge, Northfield and Weoley) since 1992. Having witnessed the demise of Rover through to the regeneration of the area by St Modwen, he was keen to see how companies and initiatives like ours are finding a home in this corner of South Birmingham.

"...Longbridge Device Lab embodies the spirit of the development that’s taking place here at Longbridge..."

Following his visit, Mr Burden commented, “The Longbridge Device Lab embodies the spirit of the development that’s taking place here at Longbridge, and it’s great to see that St. Modwen has got behind it. The lab not only showcases the growing community of tech businesses based here at the Innovation Centre, it is also reaching out into the community, helping local start-ups and young people who are training to become web developers and designers.”

We would like to thank Richard for taking the time to come and see what we are doing here and for his encouraging words.

Our portfolio of devices is still growing and we have just acquired some additional software to make the lab a more efficient place to test across a huge range of devices (more news to follow shortly) so head over to our Appointments page to let us know when you'd like to come in.
